Emily Hunt

In 2002, I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in biology.  Working with children has always been my passion, so I went to Xavier University to pursue a future in education.  In 2004, I finished my Master's Degree in education with a certification in 7-12 life science.  I have taught 7th and 8th grade science at Mariemont Junior High School since 2004. I am the middle school science content area specialist for both 7th and 8th grade.  I create both interventions and upperventions for the science department to help meet the needs of all learners.

In 2002, I graduated from Cincinnati Christian University with my degree in Education. I then attended graduate school at Milligan College and obtained my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education in 2003. I worked in a variety of school settings as a substitute teacher and I was a stay-at-home mom for 5 years. Since then, I have worked as a preschool teacher for 8 years. I am currently teaching 4- and 5-year-olds at Montgomery Nursery School. I enjoy teaching a STEAM enrichment class there and helping young learners in building their problem solving skills. I look forward to continuing to work with Pre-K students and creating a fun learning environment with STRIVE!

After studying early childhood education at Sinclair, helping to develop and care for young children has become my passion.  I have been working in various roles educating and caring for children for the past 25 years in both private and public educational settings including my current role as a co-teacher at Montgomery Nursery School. My experience and background is diverse and includes creating social and emotionally supportive environments for all students, while encouraging problem solving skills and providing hands on learning opportunities.

In 2021 I graduated from Oak Hills High School and was accepted into the University of Louisville’s School of Music. I’m currently finishing up my sophomore year as a Music Education and Flute Performance double major. Over the past 2 years I’ve had the pleasure of being involved in the University’s Marching Band holding 2 leadership positions and I plan to continue in the program for the following years. Since starting my degree I’ve spent a little over 90 hours in schools doing observations as well as teaching private flute lessons to students between the ages of 11 and 18. I chose to go into Education because being in the classroom making an impact on the young minds of our future is a passion of mine. Words can’t express how excited and ready I am to start my journey with strive and get to know all of your kiddos!

I have experience working as an Academic Coach Coordinator at the UC Learning Commons for 2 years, where I helped with test taking skills, self-care strategies, study skills, time management, and more. After I graduate from UC, I'm planning to continue my education in the field of School Psychology or Clinical Psychology. I'm very passionate about Educational Psychology, working with children, and helping others achieve their academic goals. I'm very excited to have fun, learn, and make a positive difference in our community at Strive!
